WorkSafe have been updating the forestry guidance (ACoP Review) and are looking for feedback from industry. Below is an initial draft of sections on:
Managing risk, and the contracting chain
Managing health
Harvesting (in part)
Mechanised harvesting
Steep slope harvesting
Machine-assisted harvesting
Manual felling
The draft includes an introduction that details all the sections in the final guidance, which are still to come and which you will also have the chance to give feedback on.

If you'd like to attend, please email rowan@fica.org.nz and he will forward the invite link to you.
You can also give feedback by emailing directly to WorkSafe: GuidanceandEducationDevelopment@worksafe.govt.nz
What would WorkSafe like to hear?
The main purpose of these workshops is to let WorkSafe know if there is anything missing that you think should be there, or if there is anything wrong. This is an early draft so things such as writing style and exact wording is not something we need to worry about at this stage.
If you can’t give feedback now, you will have other opportunities.
As WorkSafe complete further sections, they will be sending them out for industry feedback. This will be between now and Christmas. Once the whole guidance document is complete, that will be sent out again for feedback. This will be early next year. And once the guidance is ready for publication, WorkSafe will send it out for public consultation where you will also have the chance to give your thoughts.
